About Us

Four miniature horses, one big mission

Little Horse Visits brings our four miniature horses to elementary schools, adult day care centers, hospitals, and anywhere a visit can help.

We are based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our horses are highly trained, and our human side keeps learning through continuing education in Natural Horsemanship.

What We Do

We introduce our horses to people and let the magic happen. It always does.

Sometimes, because our horses are tiny versions of big ones, our guests laugh and feel joy. We have visited friends who are in crisis who use their time to sit quietly with our mare, Scarlet, or our gelding, Toby, and just talk.

Our visits are for educational purposes and to provide friendship. We are proudly supported by CKJ, LLC and don’t accept donations from the public. We choose to partner with people and organizations in need or who provide care to others.

Words we live by

“Horses live in the here and now; it is the basis of their serenity and survival. Being with them is an invitation to join them in their world.”

Alita H. Buzel, Ph.D. · Beyond Words: The Healing Power of Horses

“Horses react to what lies in our hearts, not to our heads. They are not confused by the words we use to lie to ourselves or hide from others.”

Allan J. Hamilton · Zen Mind, Zen Horse

“If someone forces me to do something, I will always resent and resist it. If I force my horse to do something, he too will resent and resist it. When I feel forced, I get angry, argue or quit. When my horse feels forced, he gets angry, bucks or takes off. Horses respond positively to communication, kindness and understanding. They want to be treated with dignity. So do I. So does everyone.”

Meet the herd

Scarlet, a chestnut miniature horse with a fluffy blonde forelock

Scarlet

Hey, can I chill next to you? And maybe give you some withers to lean on? Or would you rather do my hair?

Scarlet’s patience and wisdom are her gifts and she gives them generously.

Hundreds of school kids know that horses remember faces and feelings after multiple visits with Scarlet.

“I’ll just chill over here while you do you over there and I’ll decide if you’re telling the truth or not.”

Angel, a black and white dwarf miniature horse standing in a sandy stall

Angel

I am Angel. I am a dwarf miniature horse. Both my parents carried the dwarf gene and that’s why I look and walk differently from other mini horses. Some people feel sorry for me or want to look away when they see me walk because I struggle. I think being different is my superpower and I am proud of myself. I am proud of my body even though some days my bones ache. My human mom makes sure I have all the help I need so I can do what I love the most. Visiting people, making them smile and proving to them that we are all perfectly imperfect is what keeps me moving and it makes my heart sing. I am Angel.

Twinkle, a bay miniature horse peeking her nose toward the camera

Twinkle

Twinkle, little star! How I wonder what you are. Eyes so soft and will so strong, You see my soul and you’re never wrong. Twinkle, twinkle, little star, How I wonder what you are!

“As long as I know you’re telling the truth and being present, I will walk right up to you and give you a nuzzle on your knee.”

Toby, a grey and white spotted miniature horse

Toby

Our sweet and tender boy continues to amaze us with his compassion and ability to ‘read the room’. He has found his place in the family as a peace keeper. He does double duty keeping watch for the herd. Toby can see into the soul and meets his humans where they need.
